It was GOTO stupid! Excuse me for talking to myself! How did they know? I mean those many who
bought GOTO at the opening on July 1. I had it last month and lost! This
dumb question deserves a like response. So who among those many
that did exactly the same thing at exactly the same time would care to
share their secret with us mere mortals???
So whos on first and whats on second. 7/12/99 Leaders not content and moving fast jcb9901 on top with 300K and buying PMTC and AVNT this am; stew 1216 new and moving into 2nd slot with 273K buying PLAB ; previous leader enjaye at 265K buying CTCH this morning. 7/14/99pm, jcb9901 +50K in the last 2 days now 350K! Vultures and Rocketmann moved in to the top 5... 7/15/99, Things Change! New leader stew 1216 at 352K got here via the old BAMM, KOOP,VPHM parlay, we all know that one, Right! and LUVITAL at 277K moves into the 5th spot... he's one of those GOTO people ( who don't write me!) 7/16/99 Vulture on top at $352K thanks to INTM and Axe0 returns to top 5 with ASKJeeves the robot-head... saw this tech demonstrated over a year ago...basically a search engine triggered by keywords... sounds a bit labor intensive to me, but these guys are worth millions now! 7/17/99 And on comes GORO making over 113 K in 2 hours in ADBL Friday while the rest of us snoozed at the beach! Moving into 2nd place. Nice Trade GORO! I noticed a quicker fill on trades, actually getting executions near the prices existing when you place your trade.THANKS YAHOO! 7/19/99 Vulture riding with INTM, Goro into RAMP, Stew into MAIL and Rocket wants more EGOV 7/20/99 Goro goes whole hog over FSTW, in fact everyone wants it. Another avco.. ? Those were the days when a hot stock could go from $1 to $31 bid in 1 day! Vulture is hanging 2nd with Stew right on his coattails. We welcome bobkupal and mdcove to the top 5. And congrats to our very own Maymycatbefat who is #20 at $256 thanks to JTWO a hotsheet pick. Oh and if you followed Riceen's advice which is published each Sunday you would have purchased HAUP last Wednesday at $27.. it hit $35 yesterday! 7/21/99 One of the problems with being a TopGun is than when you shoot yourself in the foot, every knows about it. Then we all make mistakes and this contest was never won by those afraid to "fly". In fact recently saw a quote that went something like this: combat is won by the guy that makes the next to the last mistake 7/22/99 Leaders board looks like Omaha Beach in WW2, and the final week in approaching! Some dark horses are closing fast. 7/23/99Are IPO's the way to go? Bad market the MM's can do anything with them they want. Look at HOOV as an example down from $33 to $18 nonstop. Let's Can the IPO'S mechanics.. No trading first day for contest players. That's fair for everyone. Comments Mike thinks we should get some rules on ipo trading from Yahoo but everyone so far thinks IPO trading should remain as it is indeed a part of the game. 7/26/99 Happy Birthday Cathy!! Now back at the ranch, if you called out the TopGun you better be real fast or real lucky. Today if you went for broke, you probably made it. Meanwhile mdcov shows his stuff by buying only real winners. BEAM in this case. Congrats mdcov, now take the rest of the day off and go SURF! We will SEE U TOMORROW! ISP FAILURE! so its wednesday! 7/28/99 Just 3 shopping days til Christmas... who needs 5,000 peanuts. Those surfers out in Hawaii that's who. Mdcov suffering with the rest of us. trying to unload his Beam during power failures and system malfunctions... Snow Crash anyone? But what better comparison to winning this contest than the art/sport of surfing!! Catch a wave and ride it. But most of us are paddling around in minnow ponds praying for a little wind to kick up some ripples. Got to go where the action is. Good Luck Mdcov and its now a race for 2/3rd. place but then you never know! By the way, a not so famous person once said " the problem with day trading... Ain't daytrading!" More later! Hi all, This is so weird, I mean its 2 am and I can't sleep. Must be the contest. I still have a chance but there are 15 others bunched so close that if someone cuts one.. well I hope you know I mean M Greenspan.. there will be such a stampede ! But we can't exactly leave.. and not one of us has had a good idea since last Friday! Look at the trades, we are falling all over ourselves trying to make a buck.. but hungry money as they say..I'm sure others are looking at us wondering " stupid clowns" or something. But then there are the power failures and the "System Malfunctions", IPO's are dead you can't buy the good ones and the ones you can buy open on top and fade! And just when I didn't need it, relatives have discovered we have a spare bedroom and 5 sofas plus a new bathroom and we live close to Boston and Cape Cod.. Who are all these people and why didn't they bring any money! Well more later and good luck!
Here's my only gripe! Why the 30 minute time delay in trading?? Because of the 15 minute time delay... but that's not always true. I track my stocks in realtime but yahoo's software doesn't. It refreshes at some time interval I can't figure. So it's hard to catch a spike. ie NTOP opens at 29 flies to 32 and back to 28 by 10am... which is what you would have sold it for on a opening market order in the contest. Am I wrong? Comments "We have to do something about all this MAIL, it just stressing out too many people!
